SMART GOAL BADGE
Goal setting can help a student to achieve more. By setting goals, students create a clear direction for how they will reach an intended target.
When setting an objective, students will include each step necessary for success. Using the framework called SMART goals, students can learn how to manage their own goal setting and attainment.
SMART is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-based. Each element of the SMART framework works together to create a goal that is carefully planned, clear and trackable.
Students successfully completing the required activities will receive a SMART Goals button, lanyard, and certificate of achievement.
CAREER INTEREST AND AWARENESS BADGES
Students in grades 4 – 6 are introduced to the 16 Career Clusters. A career cluster is a group of occupations with similar features. Jobs in the same cluster require similar knowledge or skill sets. If someone enjoys a job in a particular cluster, they are more likely to enjoy related occupations in the group.
Students in Grades 4 – 6 will take a Career Interest Survey to determine their top career cluster interest areas.
Students will be introduced to those careers through project-based learning activities.
CHARACTER EDUCATION BADGES
Monthly Character Badges (Buttons) are awarded to students who exemplify the character for the month.
