SPORTS MANAGEMENT AND ENTERTAINMENT MARKETING
WORK-BASED LEARNING PARTNERSHIP
OBJECTIVE: Over the course of the season, students will develop a thorough understanding of how the Syracuse Crunch Hockey Club operates through a mutually-beneficial hands-on experience.
DESCRIPTION: Students will learn more about the Syracuse Crunch Hockey Club through classroom appearances from front office staff, an arena tour, and by shadowing departments during a game. These departments include community relations, broadcasting, sales, public relations and social media, merchandise, and game operations. Students will be assigned to one department and will complete a semester-long project that will be implemented during their shadowing experience.

Sports Marketing Badge
The Sports Marketing Badge will be earned as students participate in the activities leading up to the Job Shadow Experience. Students will participate in classroom discussions given by Syracuse Crunch personnel. Students will be offered the opportunity to attend a hockey game. In addition, students will attend an on-site visit where they will be introduced to the Syracuse Crunch venue and operations.

Image and Interview Badge
In preparation for their Job Shadowing Experience, students in the program will be introduced to lessons that cover professional image and interviewing techniques. Public speaking opportunities will be integrated throughout preparation. Students will discuss proper dress and behavior while they job shadow.

Job Shadow Badge
Students will receive the Job Shadow Badge once they participate in a Job Shadow Experience at the Syracuse Crunch Stadium. Students will work side by side Crunch personnel in a department of their choosing. The following badges can be earned by shadowing in a particular department:
